Active since 1999, Pateras’ creative practice spans contemporary composition, electroacoustics, piano improvisation, experimental rock and film soundtrack. 

He’s composed 90+ works and released 50+ records, performing solo, in groups Pateras/Baxter/Brown, PIVIXKI, Thymolphthalein, North of North, tētēma and Sulla Lingua, and long-term duos with Jérôme Noetinger, Stephen O'Malley, Erkki Veltheim, Rohan Drape and Anthony Burr.

He lives and works in Djaara/Castlemaine, and serves on the jury at La Becque, La Tour-de-Peilz.
